FOCUS AND SCOPE

JUITA (Jurnal Ilmiah Tafsir Alkitab) is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to Biblical Studies, with a particular focus on the scholarly interpretation of biblical texts. The journal serves as a platform for original research that advances critical discussion on the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, biblical exegesis, hermeneutics, and related interpretive approaches.

JUITA welcomes high-quality scholarly contributions that examine biblical texts in their literary, historical, theological, and contemporary contexts. The journal is especially interested in studies that engage critically with the meaning, interpretation, reception, and relevance of biblical texts within current academic discourse.

The journal publishes original research articles in areas including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Biblical Exegesis
  • Hermeneutics and Methods of Interpretation
  • Old Testament / Hebrew Bible Studies
  • New Testament Studies
  • Biblical Theology in Relation to Textual Interpretation
  • Literary, Rhetorical, and Narrative Approaches to Biblical Texts
  • Historical and Cultural Backgrounds of the Biblical World
  • Textual Criticism and Translation-Related Studies
  • Intertextual, Canonical, and Reception-Historical Studies
  • Contextual and Cross-cultural Biblical Interpretation
  • Interdisciplinary Approaches Relevant to Biblical Studies

JUITA prioritizes articles that make a clear scholarly contribution to the field of Biblical Studies and that are explicitly grounded in the critical interpretation of biblical texts. The journal does not primarily publish studies in general theology, ministry, pastoral practice, or religious education unless such studies are directly rooted in rigorous biblical interpretation.
