All manuscripts submitted to JUITA (Jurnal Ilmiah Tafsir Alkitab) must adhere to the journal's Focus and Scope and follow the Author Guidelines. This journal is dedicated to the publication of innovative and impactful research in the field of biblical exegesis and theology. Submissions that offer novel contributions to the interpretation of biblical texts and theological discourse are highly encouraged.
Authors are required to strictly comply with Ethical Standards regarding research involving human subjects, especially when the research includes theological studies that may involve psychological or emotional impacts. Therefore, research involving clinical or interventionist approaches must include supporting evidence or statements confirming Ethical Clearance.
Manuscripts should follow the writing style appropriate for scientific journals. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition should be strictly adhered to, particularly in formatting and referencing. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero, and to select the settings for APA 7th Edition.
Manuscripts must be submitted in English and Indonesian. Submissions in English and Indonesian must follow proper grammatical standards, as the journal values linguistic precision. To assist with this, all manuscripts undergo proofreading by Britannia Proofreading Service.
Authors must confirm that the manuscript has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. To ensure originality, all manuscripts will undergo checks using plagiarism detection software. Authors are encouraged to use services such as Turnitin™ or iThenticate™ to check for similarity. The journal’s editors will also conduct a similarity check using these services, with a threshold of 20 % maximum similarity based on Turnitin™ results.
All manuscripts submitted to JUITA will undergo a closed (double-blind) peer review process, meaning the identities of the authors will be concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. Initially, the Editor-in-Chief will assess the manuscript's suitability for the journal. Manuscripts deemed appropriate will be sent to at least two independent expert reviewers who will evaluate the scientific and theological quality of the paper. In some cases, a third reviewer may be consulted to provide critical recommendations. The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript will be made by the Editor-in-Chief, who, together with the Editorial Board, will take into account the reviewers' comments. The Editor’s decision is final.
The final decision regarding the acceptance and publication of manuscripts, including the assignment to specific issues, will be made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration the sequence of acceptance dates, the geographical distribution of authors, and any thematic issues.
