Review Process:

When reviewing a manuscript for JUITA, please consider the following aspects:

Presentation:

  • Does the manuscript present a clear and cohesive argument based on the biblical text?
  • Are the ideas and conclusions logically structured and easy to follow?

Writing:

  • Does the title accurately reflect the content and focus of the manuscript?
  • Is the writing clear, concise, and suitable for academic readers, particularly in the fields of biblical exegesis and theology?

Length:

  • Are there sections of the manuscript that should be elaborated, shortened, removed, or condensed for clarity and focus?

Title:

  • Does the title encapsulate the content of the manuscript in a concise, clear, and engaging way, suitable for theological discourse?

Abstract:

  • Does the abstract effectively summarize the research background, objectives, methods, findings, and contributions or implications in the context of biblical studies?

Introduction:

The introduction should include:

  • A background that clearly defines the research gap being addressed in the study.
  • A literature review that situates the research within the broader field of biblical studies and theological discourse.
  • The originality of the work should be stated, showing how it contributes to existing scholarship.
  • A clear statement of the study's objectives, effectively outlined in narrative form.
  • Hypothesis development (if applicable) should be grounded in theological and exegetical literature, especially if using a quantitative methodology.

Methodology:

The methodology section should:

  • Provide a thorough description of the research procedures, not just definitions of terms, but also practical steps for conducting the research.
  • Clearly identify the biblical texts or theological subjects being examined and explain the exegetical methods used (historical-critical, literary, etc.).
  • Specify the research variables (if applicable) and research instruments (e.g., text comparison methods, software, etc.).

  • Strengths and limitations of the study should be clearly addressed. The discussion should not merely repeat the results but engage critically with them.

Conclusion:

  • The conclusion should synthesize the main findings of the study, offering a clear summary that ties the results and discussion together.
  • The conclusion should be presented in effective academic sentences and should not be in bullet points or numbered lists.
  • New insights contributing to the development of biblical exegesis or theological scholarship should be highlighted.
