Authors intending to submit manuscripts to JOSAPRAT (Journal of Spirituality and Practical Theology) are required to adhere strictly to the following guidelines. Submissions that do not comply will be returned without review.
The manuscript must be original, has never been published, and is not currently under review elsewhere.
Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS) platform.
Articles may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, and should contain between 5,000 – 7,000 words (excluding references).
The title should be concise, specific, and relevant to the topic (maximum 12 words). It should contain elements of the method, theory, and issue discussed, and avoid redundancy.
Use Segoe UI font, size 18 pt, bold, and capitalize the first letter of each major word (except conjunctions and prepositions).
The author's full name (without titles) is written in Calibri, bold, 12 pt. Multiple affiliations are separated by commas.
The affiliation is written completely in Calibri, 10 pt.
Email addresses should be included in italic style, Calibri 10 pt.
Abstracts must be written in both Indonesian and English, each between 150–200 words.
Use Calibri, font size 10 pt, single spacing.
The Indonesian abstract must follow PUEBI (Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia).
The English abstract must use past tense for background, method, and results; present tense for outcomes and conclusions. Use flowing, communicative sentences—avoid list-like structure.
Abstracts should include: background, objectives, methods, findings, and conclusion.
Include 3–5 keywords below each abstract.
Manuscripts must follow this structure:

Each section title should be written in Segoe UI, 13 pt, bold, uppercase at the beginning of words, aligned to the left.
Includes a clear presentation of the research problem, context, literature debate, and state of the art.
Clearly articulate the research gap, research question(s), and objectives.
Use Calibri, 12 pt, 1.15 spacing, justified alignment.
Describe the research design, instruments, data sources, and analysis procedures clearly and in detail.
Presented in narrative form, not bullet points or lists.
Use Calibri, 12 pt, 1.15 spacing, justified.
Results should be supported by data (e.g., tables, figures).
Discussion should involve interpretation, comparison with previous studies, and highlight new contributions.
Sub-sections are allowed using capital letters at the beginning of each word, excluding prepositions.
Written as an essay (not bullet points), summarizing answers to research questions.
Include practical recommendations, specifying to whom and for what purpose they are addressed.
Tables: Title above the table, numbered consecutively, single spacing for multi-row tables. Only horizontal lines are used; remove vertical lines.
Figures: Inserted into the text, with captions placed below the figure. Captions begin with capital letters and are numbered. All figures must be referenced in the text.
Citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition style.
Use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero.
Footnotes may be used for brief explanatory notes (not bibliographic references).
Reference list should be in Calibri, 12 pt, 1.15 spacing, justified alignment.
Research involving human participants must include Ethical Clearance or a formal statement of ethical compliance.
The journal follows a strict policy on plagiarism. Manuscripts must pass plagiarism checks (e.g., Turnitin™/iThenticate™) with a maximum similarity score of 20%, excluding citations and bibliography.
All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
Manuscripts may be returned to authors for revision. Authors must provide a detailed response letter addressing all reviewer comments.
