All manuscripts submitted to SEJATI (Student Electronic Journal Aiming at Theological Interpretation) must align with the journal’s Focus and Scope and comply with the Author Guidelines. This journal is dedicated to publishing innovative and meaningful research in the fields of biblical, systematic, historical, contextual theology, Christian religious education, church music, and the study of religions. Submissions that offer fresh perspectives, academic rigor, and theological depth are highly encouraged.
Authors must adhere to ethical research standards, especially when research involves human subjects, religious communities, or sensitive theological topics that may cause psychological or emotional impacts. Any research utilizing empirical methods—such as interviews, surveys, or participatory observations—must include ethical clearance documentation or a written declaration confirming adherence to ethical research standards.
Manuscripts must follow an academic writing style suitable for theological scholarship. The journal requires authors to use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition for citation and referencing. Authors are encouraged to utilize reference management tools such as Zotero or Mendeley with the APA 7th Edition style applied.
Submissions are accepted in both English and Indonesian. Each manuscript must demonstrate linguistic clarity, coherence, and academic precision. To support this, manuscripts submitted in English will be reviewed for language quality, and authors may be requested to revise their work with the help of professional proofreading services.
Authors must confirm that the manuscript has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. To ensure academic integrity, all manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software. Authors are strongly advised to check their work using Turnitin™, iThenticate™, or similar tools prior to submission. The editorial team will also conduct similarity checks, with a maximum similarity threshold of 20% (based on Turnitin™ reports).
All manuscripts submitted to SEJATI will undergo a double-blind peer review process. This means the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. After an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief to assess the manuscript’s relevance and compliance, submissions will be forwarded to at least two independent reviewers with academic expertise in the manuscript's subject area. In certain cases, a third reviewer may be consulted to ensure objectivity and thorough evaluation. Reviewers will assess the manuscript’s theological contribution, academic integrity, originality, and methodological soundness.
The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript lies with the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board. This decision is based on the reviewers' evaluations, the journal’s thematic planning, and the quality of the submission. The Editor’s decision is final.
Final publication and issue assignment will take into account the acceptance timeline, author diversity, and editorial scheduling.
