All articles published in SEJATI are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, users are permitted to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published work for any lawful purpose, including academic, educational, and research purposes, provided that proper attribution is given to the original author(s), article title, journal name, DOI, and license.

Important: The phrase “All rights reserved” should not be used for articles published in SEJATI because published articles are open-access works distributed under CC BY 4.0.

3. Author Rights

Authors retain the following rights:

  1. The right to be identified and acknowledged as the author(s) of the work;
  2. The right to share and distribute the published article;
  3. The right to use the article for teaching, research, academic presentations, ministry, and institutional purposes;
  4. The right to deposit the article in institutional repositories, personal websites, academic social networks, and other scholarly platforms;
  5. The right to reuse parts or the whole article in future works, including books, lectures, research reports, and academic materials, provided that the original publication in SEJATI is properly cited;
  6. The right to authorize others to use the work in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.

4. Rights of Readers and Users

Readers and users may use articles published in SEJATI in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license. Users are permitted to:

  1. Read and download full-text articles freely;
  2. Copy and redistribute articles in any medium or format;
  3. Print articles for academic, educational, or personal use;
  4. Share article links or files with others;
  5. Use articles for teaching, research, citation, and scholarly discussion;
  6. Adapt, translate, remix, transform, or build upon the material;
  7. Use article metadata for indexing, archiving, citation, and academic discovery;
  8. Use the work for any lawful purpose, provided that proper attribution is given.

5. Attribution Requirements

Any reuse, distribution, adaptation, translation, or reproduction of articles published in SEJATI must include proper attribution. Proper attribution should include:

  1. Name of the author(s);
  2. Title of the article;
  3. Name of the journal: SEJATI: Student Evangelical Journal Aiming at Theological Interpretation;
  4. Volume, issue, year, and page numbers or article number where available;
  5. DOI or official article URL;
  6. Statement that the work is licensed under CC BY 4.0;
  7. Indication of whether changes, adaptations, or translations were made.

6. Right of First Publication

Authors grant SEJATI the right of first publication. This means that SEJATI has the right to publish the accepted manuscript for the first time as the official version of record through the journal website.

After publication, authors may distribute, archive, and reuse the published article, provided that the original publication in SEJATI is properly acknowledged and linked using the article DOI or official article URL.

7. Self-Archiving and Repository Policy

SEJATI allows authors to deposit and share their work without embargo. Authors may archive the following versions:

  1. Preprint: the version before peer review;
  2. Accepted manuscript: the version accepted after peer review but before final layout;
  3. Published version: the final published version with SEJATI metadata, DOI, volume, issue, and page or article number.

Authors may deposit these versions in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, academic profiles, and scholarly networking platforms. Authors should provide a citation and link to the official published version in SEJATI.

8. Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use third-party materials included in their manuscripts, such as images, tables, figures, charts, maps, long quotations, or other copyrighted materials that are not owned by the author(s) or not covered by a compatible open license.

If third-party material is included under a different license or permission arrangement, authors must clearly indicate the source, copyright holder, and license or permission statement. The CC BY 4.0 license applied to the article may not automatically apply to third-party materials unless explicitly stated.

9. Moral Rights and Academic Integrity

The CC BY 4.0 license allows broad reuse of published work, but users must respect the moral rights of authors and the integrity of scholarly communication. Users must not misrepresent the author’s views, manipulate the work in a misleading way, or imply endorsement by the author(s), journal, editor, or publisher without permission.

10. Copyright of Website Content

Unless otherwise stated, the copyright of non-article website content, including journal descriptions, policy pages, announcements, and website layout materials, belongs to SEJATI and/or Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Injili Indonesia Samarinda. Such content may be used for lawful academic and informational purposes with proper acknowledgment.

Published articles remain copyrighted by their respective author(s) and are licensed under CC BY 4.0.

11. Licensing Information in Articles

SEJATI displays copyright and licensing information on the journal website and encourages the inclusion of copyright and license statements in each published article file.

Each article should clearly state the copyright holder and license. The following statement is recommended for article PDF files:
